Every year during Welcome Week, freshmen attend an overrated presidential welcome and, more importantly, watch a student-produced musical about life at NYU. Meant to be funny and educational, the Reality Show is NYU’s way of putting a fun twist on the obligatory university orientation where girls are reminded how to avoid being sexually assaulted and given all the numbers you’re supposed to call when it happens anyway. NYULocal: New Grad Student Welcomed After 20 Years In Prison

One of NYU’s newest graduate students has the type of impressive track record that is annoyingly commonplace here. She not only has an undergraduate degree from Ball State University, but is also a certified paralegal and published scholar. She wrote a play that will debut this winter and worked on a research team that won best project of the year from the Indiana Historical Society.
